John Wick Spin-Off The Continental Arrives on Peacock This September, First Trailer Released

Must read

John Wick spin-off The Continental has finally received its first trailer and a release window of September 2023.

The Continental: From the World of John Wick is a three-part prequel series coming to Peacock, starring Mel Gibson, Colin Woodell, Mishel Prada, and more, though no Keanu Reeves as John Wick himself.

The trailer, which comes in at just under a minute and can be viewed on YouTube, certainly respects its John Wick roots, showing plenty of action, blood, guns, and more.

The show currently lacks a concrete premiere date or runtime and so far has only been described as a "three-part event". It also stars Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Nhung Kate, Jessica Allain, Ayomide Adegun, Jeremy Bobb, and Peter Greene.

The Continental has been a long time coming, with its initial announcement taking place in January 2018. It will take place in the early history of the John Wick story, specifically the 1970s, and focus on how The Continental came to be.

It will seemingly be the first part of a larger John Wick-verse that extends beyond the film franchise. Lionsgate is already considered another main film following the success of John Wick 4, while Ballerina will be the first spin-off movie.

In our 10/10 review of the latest film, IGN said: "Led by a committed Keanu Reeves, John Wick: Chapter 4’s incredibly staged action scenes, engaging ensemble, and stylish production design coalesce into a modern action masterclass."
